WHAT ARE YOU
DRIVING?
KW V1 Coilovers
Sportiness and outstanding looks. With factory-set damping.
If a car bends while driving, the slightly pressurized oil is displaced by the plunging of the piston rod. It flows through the bottom valve (pressure stage valve), which regulates the flow rate, into the outer pipe. During rebound, the oil flows from the outer tube back into the inner tube. In addition to the channels in the bottom valve, the oil also has to flow through the rebound valve located at the piston rod, to get into the piston housing.
Setup – factory-set pre-configured damping setup
The KW V1 has a vehicle-specific, fix configured damping setup with a sporty and harmonious adjustment, which allows you to experience an optimal balance of sportiness and everyday practicality. Even with full payload and maximum axle loads, the dampers always work with a sporty characteristic.
Our KW twin-tube dampers, which we manufacture directly in Germany, are gas-hydraulic or low-gas pressure vibration dampers. During production, we put the damper fluid or damper oil under pressure with up to five bar nitrogen. For this reason, one speaks of a low gas pressure vibration damper. This damper technology, which has also been tried and tested by KW in the aftermarket, is used as original equipment in over 90% of modern vehicles.
The suspension damper converts the kinetic energy of the suspension spring into thermal energy and radiates it to the environment. If a curve is driven, the KW coilover kit works in the inside of the curve of the vehicle in the rebound stage and the KW damper on the outside of the curve in the compression stage.
Continuously lowering
The KW V1 coilover kit allows a maximum or individual lowering within the tested adjustment range. Due to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the polyamide threaded ring, the continuous lowering can be varied quickly and easily, even after years.
The benchmark for coilovers
As with all KW coilovers, the engineers at KW develop in extensive test cycles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in our test center on the KW 7-post rig the vehicle-specific KW damper setup estimated by car enthusiasts worldwide. So you will experience your car even more directly and dynamically with a KW coilover kit.

KW struts are made of stainless steel
After all, you do not buy just any coilover kit, but a KW coilover kit that has been especially developed and adapted for your vehicle type. KW as manufacturer exclusively uses own resources, high-quality components and the same damper technology as high-volume manufacturers. With the KW V1 coilovers, the roll and pitch movements of the vehicle body are reduced during compression, so you benefit from an unadulterated directness and a sportier handling while driving.
Our experiences for your driving pleasure
